That’s what happened with Medium; people started writing for more money, churning out posts, canvassing for claps and it dropped the quality of writing on Medium. If you’ve been here for long you remember a time where you would skip a lot of the posts on the homepage because they were just fluff pieces. Now Medium is pushing people to write better and either amass an organic following that reads (there are users here that exist to clap and not read) or get published in one of the many publications with obviously Medium Publications having the most reach.

I’m happy for the direction Medium is going on. It’s getting back to what it was, a space for good quality content.
